Chandler is packed with culinary heavyweights hiding in plain sight. Skip the massive restaurant chains and hit these five local favorites instead.
Rita’s Burritos
This is a tiny, takeout-only Mexican joint that operates purely on quality and word of mouth. You can literally watch them press and cook fresh tortillas right behind the counter while you wait. The energy is great, the prices are completely reasonable, and the burritos are massive, dependable, and packed with flavor. It is the definition of a neighborhood staple.
Jolie’s Place
A local Chandler cornerstone since 2012. Jolie’s Place is a neighborhood bar and restaurant that serves up genuinely great food without taking itself too seriously. It is the kind of place you go for good music and cold beer, but end up staying for the food. Start with the buffalo chicken dip and move on to the teriyaki steak kabobs or the shrimp cargot.
Supreme Shawarma
A ridiculously clean and friendly hole-in-the-wall on West Ray Road. You get a free bowl of incredibly flavorful lentil soup the second you sit down, and the chicken shawarma plates are loaded with enough food for two meals. The hummus is top-tier, the service is fast, and you absolutely must grab some pistachio baklava on your way out the door.
The Hidden House
Set inside a charming, restored 1939 cottage in downtown Chandler, this spot perfectly pairs high-end luxury with a laid-back, welcoming vibe. Whether you eat out on the massive patio or inside the cozy dining room, the menu is flawless. The lamb tikka masala and the duck confit alfredo are phenomenal, and their craft cocktail program is one of the best in the East Valley.
Miel de Agave
This is not your standard chips-and-salsa Mexican restaurant. Miel de Agave elevates traditional Mexican roots with serious modern creativity. They serve perfectly cooked, juicy steaks alongside bold, culturally rich Mexican flavors in a space built on great vibes. It is an upscale experience that still manages to feel entirely welcoming.
